California Realtors First State Meeting of 2009
The California Association of Realtors (C.A.R.) meets over a 5-day period, three times a year. As a director, I attended the first one for 2009, held in Monterey last week.
Not surprisingly, the main topic of discussion dealt with short sales and REOs, which are making a huge impact on the residential real estate market. (For an explanation of these terms, see “On Foreclosures, Short Sales and REOs.”
There are continuing problems with “normal” sales that become short sales, lenders taking advantage of buyers, sellers and real estate licensees with the language in their forms, and deposits not being returned to buyers in a timely manner, to name just a few.
Stay tuned for more information on these and other issues.
